Observations:
We certainly have a bunch today.
I don’t know about you, but I consider the economy a hell of a lot more urgent issue than health care, cap and trade and the Olympics in Chicago, for crying out loud.
What is the matter with the President? 9.7% unemployment and rising, real inflation appears to be in the 15-18% range due to the monetizing of the debt, tax collections falling precipitously, the biggest drop since 1932, the FDIC in the red and wanting the banks to cough up an additional $45 Billion in premiums in advance, by the end of this year, when best estimates are that the banks are facing a $53 Billion hit next year alone from bad loans.
So the marginal banks cough up their portion of the advance premium and then fail because they go into negative capitalization because of the bad loans. I am failing to see the genius in this.
The president needs to remember those immortal words that the Clintons spoke:
“It’s the economy, Stupid!”
Contrary to what congress is telling you, the public option is not dead. Remember when I warned you several weeks ago when people started celebrating the death of the public option and Obama said he didn’t need it in his health care bill; and then he came back in spades for the public option. Well, just because the Senate finance committee nixed the public option yesterday, doesn’t mean that it isn’t alive and well!
Look for Harry Reid to try to pull some chicanery to get it back on the senate floor for a vote and also, expect collusion between him and Pelosi to cook up some other nefarious way to sneak it past. Expect that the Pelosi Posse could even try to slip the public option into another unrelated bill and get it passed, since they are not allowing congress time to read their bills, let alone their constituents!
Speaking of the public option, did you hear that the GAO audited Medicare prescriptions for two years in 5 states and uncovered about $65,000,000,00 in fraud and abuse. 5 states! Add the doctors fees to that and it potentially runs into the hundreds of millions of dollars.
This discovery is both good and bad. Obama will jump on this as an example of the savings he can achieve in Medicare and therefore he should be able to rip the heart out of Medicare. My question is, we haven’t even got this fixed yet and we don’t know if the government can even fix it. Do you want these same types of people running your health care?
I recently answered a column in our left wing newspaper wherein in response to one statement by the columnist, I said that this is a nation of laws. The
people have not given bureaucrats the authority to enforce, or not enforce laws, based on political expediency! Well, it’s happening as we speak folks.
Our controversial Sherriff Joe has had a long running feud with the mayor of Phoenix, “Urban Phil” Gordon who has promoted Phoenix as a sanctuary city by welcoming illegal aliens and not prosecuting them when they are caught. Catch and release, I think they call it.
Sheriff Joe had no such sentiment. To stop Sheriff Joe from making illegals uncomfortable in Phoenix, “Flash” Gordon enlisted the help of then governor, Janet “Nappy” Napolitano (Now director of Homeland Security)
It should be noted that Sheriff Joe’s deputies have been trained by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) for immigration work, that Sheriff Joe was under contract and working hand in hand with the state Department of Public Safety in immigration sweeps and also working with ICE.
After a letter went out from the DPS to Sheriff Joe congratulating him on the professional job his deputies had done working with the DPS and that the next year’s funding had been approved for the Sheriff’s office and that DPS was looking forward to continuing to work with Sheriff Joe, Napolitano suddenly would not sign the authorization and pulled the funding. Of course, Sheriff Joe said something to offend Napolitano, probably pointing out the political BS that she was pulling.
Since then, Urban Phil has been commuting to DC, which had the result of congers starting an investigation into Sheriff Joe, at Napolitano’s request, and eventually the FBI and the UN! Nappy was pulling out the big guns. Well, so far, no wrongdoing has been found on the Sheriff’s part.
Today, ICE has suddenly pulled the pin on a new agreement as it was due to be signed, citing the need for Sheriff Joe to only catch and release illegals unless they have committed a felony in Arizona.
This has Napolitano’s fingerprints all over it! Folks, they are not enforcing your laws anymore if they interfere with their political agenda! If that isn’t malfeasance in office, it should be! How do you feel about crime at the federal level? It seems to be happening every day with this administration!
And what is this about the president taking his family and flying off in Air Force one to lobby for the Olympics to be held in Chicago? I expect that this little jaunt will cost the taxpayers at least a million dollars, if not two million, given the size of his entourage. If Mayor Daily wants the president to go to Copenhagen, then Mayor Daily needs to pay the president’s expenses! Some say that the deal was already done and that Obama’s trip to Copenhagen was a vacation coupled with a great photo op.
New euphemism of the day: A spokesman for the administration, in answering questions by the press as to why Obama has suddenly barred the press from accessing inmates at Gitmo, answered a question and in doing so, called the inmates in Gitmo
“Refugees”!!!! Can you believe that? They’re not terrorists, suddenly? They’re Refugees? Kum bye yah, my fanny!
Obama has now set a meeting with Iran for next week. What can possibly be discussed? Obama threatened Iran at Pittsburgh when the new uranium enrichment plant became public. So what did Iran do? They tested a new missile the next day!! Apparently, Kum bye yah doesn’t’ work with the Iranians.
I have another question regarding this issue. In the newspaper that I read, it said that intelligence sources had been watching this facility for sometime; I got the impression, a couple of years. If that is the case, then Obama and probably France and England had to know about it. How come it was ignored all through the Security Council meeting and not revealed until the G-20 meeting the next week in Pittsburgh?
If I had to guess, as the new president of this nation and the Security Council, Obama doesn’t like things messy and since this type of thing might reflect badly on his image of controlling all of these things with ease, they put it off for a week.
Little dribs and drabs of information that I am picking up here and there are leading me to believe that world leaders are beginning to reassess Obama as a rookie, and worse, a rookie whose own arrogance won’t allow him to see where he is going wrong. Sarkozy of France just tore into him for his bumbling on Iran. Pretty unprecedented move in the sphere of world politics. Of course, I have been calling him and the 4th grade class that he runs, rookies for nearly a year. Unfortunately, they are dishonest rookies.
Although, I do have to give credit where credit is due. Obama did tell us during the campaign that he was going to fundamentally change this country. It should come as no surprise to us.
Obama has indicated that he will break the financial back of this country if he has to in order to install a Marxist regime. If it hasn’t been clear to you up ‘til now, when the country’s back is broken, it is highly likely that your financial back will be broken right along with the country’s. C’est le guerre, children.
Dishonesty, Intimidation, Hypocrisy and Medicare Advantage:
by Newt Gingrich The editorial writers at the New York Times thought they were getting the White House’s back when they defended cuts to Medicare Advantage last week. In fact, they were validating the blatant dishonesty of administration and congressional officials pushing for the cuts. In their editorial last Sunday, the Times writers revealed in stunning fashion the lies that have been used to convince increasingly skeptical seniors that their Medicare Advantage benefits won’t be sacrificed to pay for government-run health care.
Dishonesty: Cuts Won’t Affect Medicare Advantage Participants
In one breath, the Times claimed the effect of Medicare Advantage cuts will be “modest”:
“Although Republican rhetoric has triggered fears that Medicare Advantage enrollees might lose their coverage entirely if private plans drop out of the system, the real effect of the bill would likely be modest on average.”
Then, literally on the next line, the Times contradicts itself, and stumbles inadvertently on to the truth:
“The value of an enrollee’s added benefits would shrink by more than half from current levels but would not disappear; they would still be worth about $500 a year in 2019 (emphasis added).”…
I thought I would include this excerpt from a column. What is so amazing to me is that Obama and the 4th grade class literally threatened Humana in particular and all other insurance companies in general not to comment publicly on the administration’s health care proposals, period! Or they would face federal investigations! Is this really America? I don’t think so. But just hold on, it will get much worse in a hurry!
Folks, I don’t know what the hell we are waiting for but unless we start waking up and waking up others, and making ourselves heard, we are going to wake up in the near future having the government making all of our life choices for us (Under penalty of law) and our children and grand children.
This is so bad that Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) subsequently introduced legislation in the Senate Finance Committee to protect the 1st Amendment rights of private insurance companies to criticize health care reform proposals.
That is how clueless the republicans are! It hasn’t a prayer of passing! Free speech is the antithesis of the progressives!
A little something to think about:
IRVING TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Each day before the school bus comes to pick up the neighborhood’s children, Lisa Snyder did a favor for three of her fellow moms, welcoming their children into her home for about an hour before they left for school.
Regulators who oversee childcare, however, don’t see it as charity. Days after the start of the new school year, Snyder received a letter from the Michigan Department of Human Services warning her that if she continued, she’d be violating a law aimed at the operators of unlicensed day care centers.
It’s already here folks! Remember, there are at least three or four governments to make rules for every person in this nation!
More about the H1N1 Vaccine:
N.Y. Health Care Workers Revolt Over H1N1 Vaccine
Saying They Should Be Given A Choice, Employees Rally In Albany, Around State, Chant “No Forced Shots!”
STONYBROOK, NY; CBS: Protesters Hold Signs That Read: “The State Doesn’t Own My Body’”
They’re upset over an ultimatum from the health department. Workers are being told to either get the swine flu vaccine or lose their jobs.
See how easy it is for the government(s) to fall into giving ultimatums to people once the Administration showed them how? Since they are in government and you are not, they feel that they must know better and life would be a lot easier if they could just order you to do their bidding and not having to deal with a lot of carping. Apparently, no one told them that Democracy can get messy. If you don’t believe that, ask the British.
The Feds give us fair warning:
WASHINGTON (AP) — To prevent inflation from taking off, the Federal Reserve will need to start boosting interest rates quickly and aggressively once the economy is back on firmer footing, Fed officials warned Tuesday.
“I expect that when it comes time to tighten monetary policy, my colleagues and I will move with an alacrity that, if needed, will be equal in speed and intensity” to when the Fed was slashing rates to battle the recession and the financial crisis, said Richard Fisher, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
Although Fisher has a reputation for being one of the Fed’s toughest inflation fighters, it marked the second such warning by a central bank official in recent days. Fed member Kevin Warsh on Friday said the central bank will need to move swiftly when the time comes to raise rates.
This could be a real jolt for us and if they mishandle this, it could plunge us right back into a recession. It will have an effect on the economy like a rope has on a man when he suddenly comes to the end of it, if you get my drift.
My greatest concern is, that due to the administration’s current monetary policy, or lack thereof, we could start seeing rapid inflation before we start coming out of the recession. It’s called Stagflation. Jimmy Carter, so far, has been the only president in memory go gift us with Stagflation. If that happens and they pull the trigger on interest rates, it will really make a bad situation much worse.
I am thinking about hitting several charities about setting up soup kitchens for us.
Global Warming:
Sept. 28 (Bloomberg) — The U.S. Northeast may have the coldest winter in a decade because of a weak El Nino, a warming current in the Pacific Ocean, according to Matt Rogers, a forecaster at Commodity Weather Group.
Well, the upper plains states have had two consecutive record breaking winters, and summers (or lack of them) for that matter.
More political criminals:
NEW YORK – AP: Former Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu was sentenced Tuesday to more than 24 years in prison by a judge who accused him of funding his fraud by manipulating the political process in a way that “strikes at the very core of our democracy.”
U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero sentenced the 58-year-old Hsu, who raised money for Hillary Rodham Clinton and others, to 20 years in prison for his guilty plea to fraud charges and another four years and four months in prison for his conviction at trial for breaking campaign finance laws.
What is it about democrats? Hillary’s big fund raiser is going to do 24 years, Charlie Rangel, who has now cheated on his taxes covering about a million dollars of unreported income (He will be fine. He is too well connected. Have you seen anything in the media about him lately? Of course not!)
And some of Obama’s staff and associates have criminal records. Are you seeing a pattern here? While the republicans are certainly no angels and I suspect the next criminal republican associate is waiting in the wings to be discovered, I don’t see that kind of a criminal element in the staffs and associates of any of the past republican presidents in the past 20 or so years. However, they did have Spiro Agnew back in the day.
