November 30, 2009 Breaking News

Today’s attachment is a must read. It is a treatise from a progressive web site on the fiscal issues of the health care bill. This is written by one of their own! The information reported here is breathtaking. If you have been wondering whether my warnings over the past year were accurate, read this.

Quote of the Day:

“When it comes to women, you are a true democrat”

Rick (Humphrey Bogart) to Police Prefect, Captain Louis Renaud, in the movie Casablanca

Observations:

As you know doubt have heard, Tiger Woods has woman trouble. Even the first athlete to win $1Billion can’t escape it. Maybe Obama will get the Woods back together over a beer at the White House.

On Tuesday, November 24th, after it was reported that tens of thousands of documents containing sensitive information regarding the California A.G.’s investigation of ACORN had been discovered dumped in a trash bin behind the ACORN San Diego office, Attorney General Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown went on to a talk show.

Instead of being indignant because of the document dump on an investigation that he had just announced several days before, he instead launched into a rambling, somewhat incoherent political answer to a question of law.

He spent a good deal of time defending ACORN’s right to privacy, regardless of whether it looked like they were obstructing justice by dumping all of these documents. Does not sound like an AG on a crusade.

ACORN knows that you can’t produce documents that you don’t have. Do you suppose the fix is in? Given that Obama needs the proletariat of the ACORN organization, it could very well be.

Also, Moonbeam has announced that he will be a candidate for governor of California again. He will rely heavily on the administration for support in this activity so he has already signed on. No way he wants to be left behind when the revolution comes.

America, once the technological leader of the world, reportedly has fallen to #40 now. Some say the reason is that we don’t have a national innovation policy.

Speaking of technology, Al Gore is back on his bandwagon. The Financial Times just reported that he is back to hand wringing and wailing about business concentrating on short term results instead of long term results.

He goes on with a convoluted argument with some, but not much relevancy.

Apparently, Mr. Gore is not getting the investment that he needs to make more millions in his global warming companies (green technology) and takes business to task for their shortsightedness.

I think he just wants to whine. Well, that and troll for any remaining liberal trust fund babies that might throw money at him because they have heard of him.

The Latest on the climate issue regarding the leaked emails intimating that the research was spiked, is that the head of the division for the U.N. says that there is no way that a few scientists could corrupt their process. (Just like there is no way that the former president of the U.N.’s son could rip off the U.N.)

Coming to light at the same time is the discovery that all of the raw temperature data from the 80’s, on which all global warming models are based, has been dumped by the University of East Anglia, where it was kept.

This was just discovered when several scientists, utilizing the Freedom of Information act, tried to get the data so that they could check the work on how the raw temps were manipulated to take into consideration the differences in how the raw temps were gathered.

The excuse is that the info was dumped to save space. (The info was kept on computer tapes).

So we are right back where we started. Now no one can check to see if the science was spiked or even if there were errors made. It is especially aggravating

because we the people are going to be forced to spend Trillions of dollars on something that for all we know, could be voodoo.

What a hell of a way to run a railroad.

I wonder how bad American banks will be hurt from what appears to be an $80 Billion default by Dubai on its loans. Several British banks reportedly have a collective exposure of around £14 Billion which might make things a little rocky for one or more of them. I sure hope that none of our “too big to fail” banks are heavily invested in Dubai.

Iran has announced that they may back out of the nuclear agreement which would then not allow the IAEA to inspect their facilities.

So what’s the difference? The IEAE just found out about another facility that they didn’t know existed. I don’t know if the fact that we didn’t discover it was due to their cleverness or the fact that the outgoing head of the IEAE is a muslim. He recently announced that the U.N. investigation of the Iranian nuclear program had hit a dead end.

Obama did a nice job of allowing Iran to have time to comply with the international orders for disclosure.

It is a good bet that the reason that they are threatening to pull out of the agreement is either a negotiating point, which will further delay an inspection, or, if that doesn’t work, an actual pull out to give them time to put the finishing touches on their nuclear weaponry.

As I have said before, Iran probably won’t attack Israel. They will give a nuclear weapon to HAMAS or Hezbollah to deliver.

Russia may be reaping the reward of supporting muslim terrorists when it suited their purposes. The new train wreck, together with other muslim attacks over the past 8 years places them in a contradictory position of supporting some muslim operations and fighting others.

One wonders if mainstream Islam doesn’t start controlling the extremist factions on their own, whether muslims in general might not become world- wide pariahs. Well, except in the U.S. It is not looking good as 95% of muslims won’t condemn acts of terrorism in the guise of jihad.

Honduras held its election yesterday and it appears that it will remain a democracy, no thanks to the Obama administration.

The foreign policy bungles of the 4th grade class are becoming the thing of legends. I have to wonder if any country in their right mind would trust our country to back them up.

In all fairness, the arrogance of the state department has done nothing to enhance our standing in the world since World War II.

We ran from Cuba, Viet Nam, Iran, and a host of other small conflicts that left our supporters to face a blood bath.

While we change out presidents and congress, I think that there should be a common thread of basics that we pursue in our foreign policy, regardless of who is in power.

Obama goes to bat for his old buddies:

NEW YORK TIMES: Washington — The Justice Department has concluded that the Obama administration can lawfully pay the community group Acorn for services provided under contracts signed before Congress banned the government from providing money to the group.

The department’s conclusion, laid out in a recently disclosed five-page memorandum from David Barron, the acting assistant attorney general for the Office of Legal Counsel, adds a new wrinkle to a sharp political debate over the antipoverty group’s activities and recent efforts to distance the government from it.

Even though congress has banned ACORN, it means nothing when one is talking about partners in crime (literally, I suspect).

Who knew 4th Grade Class was Contageous:

NEWSMAX: By Ronald Kessler–The fact that party crashers were allowed into a White House State Dinner without being on the guest list is emblematic of the Secret Service’s corner cutting detailed in my book, “In the President’s Secret Service: Behind the Scenes with Agents in the Line of Fire and the Presidents They Protect.”

It’s clear from the Secret Service’s comment that the agency not only ignored the fact that the couple was not on the guest list but also did not do the usual background check to ensure that they were not possible threats. (There probably were not many of the invited guests that could pass a background check so the checks might have been eliminated. Pretty snarky, huh?) The party crashers could have had outstanding arrest warrants for murder. They could have been involved with terrorists. They could have been agents of Iran or North Korea. The Secret Service would never have known.

While the couple did pass through a magnetometer to detect weapons, they could have assassinated the president or vice president using other means—anthrax, for example. The additional security checks referred to by the Secret Service spokesman screen for such items as radiological contamination but would not detect secreted biological weapons.

The fact that the couple was allowed in in this dangerous age is a disgrace and is symptomatic of lax standards at the Secret Service ever since it was absorbed by the Department of Homeland Security in 2003. Because of lack of adequate funding, a management culture that considers itself invincible, and spinelessness when it comes to standing up to demands by those under protection, including the White House itself, the Secret Service now takes chances that would have been unthinkable prior to its absorption into Homeland Security.

How about that? Our old friend Janet Napolitano pops up again! She wasn’t satisfied with putting Arizona at risk. Now she gets to put everyone at risk. (Although her sloppy management might have a certain amount of appeal to some, in this case)

Australia leads the world in revolt against Al Gore:

TELEGRAPH U.K.–Australia is leading the revolt against Al Gore’s great big AGW conspiracy – just as the Aussie geologist and AGW skeptic Professor Ian Plimer predicted it would.

ABC news reports that five frontbenchers from Australia’s opposition Liberal party have resigned their portfolios rather than follow their leader Malcolm Turnbull in voting with Kevin Rudd’s Government on a new Emissions Trading Scheme.

The Liberal Party is in turmoil with the resignations of five frontbenchers from their portfolios this afternoon in protest against the emissions trading scheme.

The ETS is Australia’s version of America’s proposed Cap and Trade and the EU’s various carbon reduction schemes: a way of taxing business on its CO2 output. As Professor Plimer pointed out when interviewed this summer, this threatens to cause enormous economic damage in Australia’s industrial and mining heartlands, not least because both are massively dependent on Australia’s vast reserves of coal. It is correspondingly extremely unpopular with Aussie’s outside the pinko, libtard metropolitan fleshpots.

Though the ETS squeaked narrowly through Australia’s House of Representatives, its Senate is proving more robust – thanks not least to the widespread disgust by the many Senators who have read Professor Plimer’s book Heaven And Earth at the dishonesty and corruption of the AGW industry. If the Senate keeps rejecting the scheme, then the Australian government will be forced to dissolve.

For the rapidly increasing number of us who believe that AGW is little more than a scheme by bullying eco-fascists to deprive us of our liberty, by big government to spread its controlling tentacles into every aspect our lives, and scheming industrialists such as Al Gore to enrich themselves through carbon trading, this principled act by Australia’s Carbon Five is fantastic news.

I couldn’t have said it better.

Tehran takes a leaf from Obama:

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Islamic religious authorities have begun tightening their grip on Iranian public schools, a report said Wednesday, as hard-liners expand an ideological “soft war” against Western influence.

The effort appears to be part of a wider drive to counter opposition groups and other pro-reform factions that have been emboldened by the unprecedented protests after June’s disputed presidential election.

Word has it that Obama has offered them the adulation songs taught to 1st and 2nd graders here in this country, promoting Obama as their savior. Mmm mmm mmm.

Definition for new readers: Yellow rat democrats, as opposed to Blue Dog Democrats, or just Democrats, are so named because they behave like yellow rats; they are sneaky, they have no rules that they live by except to get what they want by any means necessary and they run for cover when someone shines a light on them. Yellow Rat Democrats draw primarily from the so-called “progressive” democrats.
